The Director, Content Acquisition will work alongside the VP, Marketplace Strategy and Operations to define and execute against a content strategy that adds competitive value, supports the product initiatives of the organization and optimizes capital allocation
The approach to content acquisition may include outright collection acquisition, upfront license agreements and guided production
Define and execute Shutterstock creative content sourcing strategy in support of revenue goals, business objectives and customer requirements
Keep a pulse on the competitive landscape and bring to the table ideas and solutions oriented towards optimal competitive positioning
Lead the evaluation of potential content partners through content analysis, market demand, competitive positioning, and financial modeling
Drive creative content gap analysis & segmentation by geo, category, tiers, markets and customer channels
Own strategic content acquisition process end-to-end from first partner contact to collaborating on contracts with legal to liaising with content processing, publishing and merchandising teams
Build financial analysis and forecasting models to support acquisition terms and conditions, contract negotiation and success criteria for strategic content partners
Own the financial success of strategic content acquisition; continuously analyze collection and performance data related to strategic content partners to evaluate ROI and inform ongoing strategy
Prepare strategy documents, company updates, and board presentations, as needed, for content deals and overall competitive landscape

The day to day:
• Define and execute Shutterstock creative content sourcing strategy in support of revenue goals, business objectives and customer requirements.
