We are looking for a self-starter who’s always thinking ten steps ahead and knows how to develop, execute, and evaluate podcast marketing campaigns
3-4 years experience in a marketing role at an agency or media company, including at least 2 years of experience in podcasting specifically
Experience with paid media budgets and experimenting across new and existing channels including social media, newsletters and digital ads
Proven experience drawing insight and opportunities from data, and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data to make strategic decisions
Demonstrated success in project management
Is proactive, detail-oriented, and efficient; knows how to streamline and loves deadlines
Able to seamlessly transition from high-level creative brainstorming to conducting and analyzing experiments
Experience in Keynote, Canva, and/or Powerpoint
Has a deep knowledge and interest in media and culture
A love of podcasts is a must
So is a deep understanding of communication in the era of social media
TED is looking for a Podcast Marketing Manager to play a vital role in growing the TED Audio Collective’s audience, collaborating with the team on the success of our launches and ongoing promotion
This person will play a key role in developing and executing TED’s strategy for podcast marketing, communicating with platform partners about upcoming launches, and cross-promoting TED’s content with other publishers
The Podcast Marketing Manager will sit on TED’s Audience Development team
They will work closely with TED’s Audio team, bridging marketing strategy with podcast programming, development and distribution
While much of their work will focus on podcasts, this person will be connected to the broader audience development work of the Media team, touching on initiatives outside of podcasts to ensure cohesion
Lead the cross-promotional efforts of TED’s original podcasts, including maintaining existing relationships with other publishers and finding new collaborative partners
Work closely with the broader Audience Development marketing team to ensure our podcast work is integrated and connected to the rest of our marketing initiatives
Experiment with growth initiatives to find new marketing channels and reach target audiences
Develop and execute paid marketing campaigns for new and existing TED podcasts in collaboration with the podcast marketing team
Maintain relationships with our platform partners and ensure we’re communicating all new launches and all deliverables are met
Utilize data and insights to build and iterate on campaigns
Coordinate the creation of podcast marketing assets
Create marketing decks to share strategy with internal and external stakeholders
Pitch podcast hosts for guest opportunities on other podcasts
Contribute to the growth of the TED Audio Collective brand as a whole
Track podcast marketing activities and collaborate with the analytics associate to identify areas for improvement in audience acquisition
Support our growing podcast strategy on YouTube
Report on audience and performance data in collaboration with the analytics team
Work on special projects from time to time
Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000

The TED Audio Collective is a collection of podcasts for the curious. They're for listeners as excited by psychology and design as science and technology—who want to dig deep into today’s most exciting ideas. The audio team oversees the creation of podcasts like Good Sport, WorkLife with Adam Grant, How to Be a Better Human, and many more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
